Special Event Volunteer Opportunities
Food Preparer
Summary: Food Preparers work to cook, prepare, or serve food at special events.
Description: Food Preparers may grill, bake, or otherwise good, prepare and serve food at special events. These events may be outreach events in the community, or events hosted at the church.
Skill or experience needed:
- Basic cooking skills
- Understanding of proper food handling guidelines
Time Commitment: 1-5 events per quarter.
Greeter
Summary: Greeters seek to welcome attendees of special events.
Description: Greeters welcome and talk to individuals at special events. These events may be outreach events in the community, or events hosted at the church.
Skill or experience needed:
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Individuals should know basic information about the event and the church to share with those who may ask.
Time Commitment: 1-5 events per quarter.
Setup Team
Summary: Setup Team members coordinate the setup and/or tear down for special events.
Description: Setup Team members coordinate to gather and/or transport tables, chairs, and other various items for events and plan and execute the setup and tear down of these items. These events may be outreach events in the community, or events hosted at the church.
Skill or experience needed:
- Basic understanding of event needs to prepare setup.
- Ability to setup basic items such as tables, chairs, and cooking equipment.
Time Commitment: 1-5 events per quarter.
Event Photographer
Summary: Event Photographers attend events and capture photos and/or video to be used for church promotional materials and social media campaigns.
Description: Event Photographers capture photos at events, and seek to tell the story of the event through their photos. Photographers then process and deliver these images to Calvary to be used for promotional items, event recaps, or social media campaigns.
Skill or experience needed:
- Individuals should have their own DSLR and lenses.
- Experience with event photography and/or portrait photography.
- Ability to cover event without being a distraction to attendees.
Time Commitment: 1-5 events per quarter.
